What size awning do I need?
Porch Awnings
As porch awnings only attach to the top (horizontal) part of your caravan awning channel you simply need to measure the length of your awning channel that runs horizontal along the top edge of your caravan. As long as the porch you are considering has a smaller width measurement than this it will fit. Additional things to consider with porches are the relative positions of doors and windows and how these fit with where the sides of the porch will sit against the caravan.
Full Awnings
For full awnings that attach via the full length of the caravan awning channel you need to find your “A-A” or “ground to ground” measurement. This is easily done by running a length of string from the ground, around the awning channel to the ground at the other end (see red line on diagram). You may find this easier to do with two people and it is very important that you take the measurement from ground level at both sides and not just the length of the awning channel. Lay the string out and then measure it in cms, this is your “A-A” measurement. Armed with this information you can consult our sizing table below to see what size awning you require. For example a size 925 awning will fit A-A measurements of 910-934 so if you measured your caravan between 910cm & 934cm you will need a size 925.
